Blog Posts

During my time as a freelancer, I’ve ghostwritten hundreds of blog posts in subjects as diverse as home plumbing and repair, HVAC maintenance, choosing an RV, how to spot the early signs of gingivitis, why you shouldn’t leave your pets outside in the winter, understanding your home and auto insurance, how to apply the perfect cat eye, and so much more. Some say that makes me a generalist (as if that’s a bad thing), I say that makes me one hell of a researcher.

Email Marketing

In my various roles, I’ve worked with email marketing campaigns of all stripes—from welcome and onboarding to win-back and retention, email newsletters to standalone messages, transactional emails to webinar and event promotion, to sequences designed for education and conversion—I’ve written more emails than I could possibly count. For internal and external audiences. Segmented, and en masse. Long, and short. Serious, and snappy. You name it.

I’ve spent the most time in Hubspot, but have also used MailChimp and ConvertKit.

Social Media Posts

Admittedly, I was a bit of a late adopter when it comes to social media. But after having been tasked with creating social media content in one role, I was hooked.

I've written and created graphic posts for awareness, nurturing, event promotion, holiday greetings, video formats, and more. All designs were done using Canva (love!).

Flyers, Guides, Letters & eBooks

I’m lucky to have had the chance to partner with some fantastic designers to produce long-form content like in-depth business and training guides, welcome booklets, step-by-step process guides, incentive and promotional flyers, as well as some beautifully laid-out letters.

Some of the brands I’ve worked with include:

Medium

We’re living in a digital age, and the online world is built with words. My Medium journey is just getting started, but I’m sure I’ve found a new home for words, musings, and carefully constructed thoughts on life and work in the modern world.

@contenttonic

Content Tonic

A website I created to share the experiences and knowledge I’ve gained over the years working as a Communications professional. A big-agency colleague of mine once told me that for content agencies and freelancers alike— small businesses are a waste of time because they lack the understanding and budget for “real” content marketing. Maybe, I said. Or maybe small businesses deserve our help the most. That’s why Content Tonic was designed with small businesses and solopreneurs in mind.

Mugwort & Moonstone

A new site that focuses on the practical applications, traditions, and lore of Western herbalism (commonly considered to include herbal traditions from ancient Greece, Rome, Western Europe, and North America). The goal of the site is to raise awareness and share knowledge of traditional plant-based medicine and healing practices, plant identification, cultivation and foraging, edible wild plants (specific to Canada), harvesting and storing herbs, and simple herbal recipes for prevention, healing, and self-care.

A Nice Evening Out

A short story that’s about, well, a nice evening out for a quick bite to eat. Totally normal, right? Maybe not with these two characters.
