Stacey Durnin

Every since I was young, the written word had me hooked. I didn’t always want to be a writer, at one point I wanted to get a law degree and work for CSIS so I could know all the most secret government secrets, but I have always loved to write. I couldn’t not write, even if I tried.

I studied English Literature in university, and was planning on getting my PhD so that I could spend my days thinking and talking about great works of writing when I fell into content writing by chance. I answered a job ad looking for a “creative writer” and found myself writing blog posts for a boutique agency outside of Montreal. And just like that, the path emerged.

I worked with that agency for a few years and wrote hundreds of blog posts for them, on a absolutely dizzying array of topics before landing a role with Avon Canada, where I really got to build on my writing chops and delve deeper into the various aspects of content creation. I worked my way up to Sales Communications Manager. I’ve had the chance to write about beauty, entrepreneurship, organization, productivity, prospecting for customers, empowerment, and so much more. I’ve learned how to lead a team, manage a content calendar, and develop communications and content strategies.

Now, after years of helping others with their content needs, my attention is drifting towards my own passion projects and I’m carving out the time to bring life to the stories I’ve always wanted to write, and the blogs I’ve always wanted to create.

This site is home to it all—a place where you can see what I’m working on, check out my portfolio, and connect if you find yourself in need of some help finding the right words.
